South Cross Inc. is here to assist you with both long-term or respite solutions by providing reputable, trustworthy and experienced caregivers for live-in or live-out care.
Whether individuals need someone to just drop by and check-in, or someone 24 hrs a day, our dedicated management works with them and/or their families, in a collaborate effort, to establish the best care plan to meet all their needs. Below is a list of non-medical services we are proud to offer.
Companion & Homemaker
This service provides supervision and general household management activities which assist individuals in maintaining a safe environment. This service includes, but it is not limited to: light housecleaning, reporting health changes or other problems. changing linens, meal planning & preparation, shopping*, laundry, ironing, money management*, reminding to take medications, escorting to recreational, business, or medical appointments*, assisting with telephone calls and with correspondence, monitoring to ensure safety (*some restrictions may apply)
All the duties described under Companion & Homemaker are included, as well as the following services: Bathing, Dressing, Feeding, Toileting, Transferring and Ambulation.
In order to ensure the safety of some individuals, 24 hour, 7 days a week supervision and coordination of daily living may be required. In this instance, caregivers report to the home to provide assistance around the clock. Duties include all described under Personal Caregiver and Companion & Homemaker service.
Non-Medical Caregiver for Memory Loss
Studies show that the best place for a person with memory loss is in familiar surroundings. Our approach of encouragement and assistance helps clients and family members cope with the day to day challenges of living at home.
Drop By Services
For those individuals who may need services in smaller increments of time or just someone to drop-by, services visits may range from 1hr to 1.5 hrs.
South Cross Inc. can provide respite care for a few hours or several days, depending on your needs. You can work with coordinators to create a schedule that allows you to attend special occasions and other personal matters. Our reliable caregivers are here to help when you need it most. As a result, respite care is a great option to assist the primary caregiver in your family with a needed break.
Respite Care service grants are available through the Sate of Connecticut to those families who qualify. See Financial Assistance page for more details.
